Starting condition
Weather exposure, wet-dry cycling and mechanical damage had created a need for a continuous barrier across straight pipe runs and complex transitions.
Site constraints
Curved surfaces, supports, welds and restricted backsides make uniform preparation and thickness more difficult than on flat steel.
Engineering decision
Spray application was used for broad pipe surfaces, with controlled detail work around transitions and areas where spray angle or access could reduce coverage.
